SENIOR PROGRAM MANAGER needed for national philanthropic organization!

Put your philanthropic networking and collaboration skills to work for a company that seeks to make lives better through philanthropic investments.

We're Great Lakes Higher Education Guaranty Corporation, one of the largest education philanthropies in the nation, dedicated to making the dream of a college education - and a better life - come true for at-risk students. As we continue to grow, we're now looking for a Senior Program Manager, a newly-created position in our Education Grantmaking department.

This position is responsible for assisting with the planning, facilitation, and coordination of the noncompetitive grant activities that support Great Lakes' philanthropic mission. In addition, this position will identify and cultivate opportunities for collaboration with national partners and other national grantmakers.

The ideal candidate will be an energetic, knowledgeable and respected professional within the education philanthropy field, with a thorough understanding of grant-funded programs and projects, plus a track record of collaborating to achieve defined philanthropic goals. In addition, the ideal candidate will have knowledge equivalent to a Master Degree in philanthropy or related field and five or more progressive years in grantmaking.

Great Lakes is seeking a candidate who possesses the ability to:

  • Identify and propose potential opportunities for collaboration with national partners and national grantmakers.
  • Identify, cultivate and maintain positive relationships with representatives from community-based organizations, school districts, legislators, higher education institutions, regional and national philanthropies/foundations, and other entities invested in college access and success for students and families.
  • Participate in local, regional, and national networks to obtain and maintain a high level of knowledge of the most effective strategies to increase college access and success.
  • Help increase the visibility of Great Lakes' philanthropy by researching and providing recommendations regarding which conferences and what topics Great Lakes should present at. When warranted, collaborate with other national partners and national grantmakers on conference submissions and presentations.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute project plans to ensure the effective management of assigned projects.
  • Utilize independent judgment and maintain a high degree of accuracy and timeliness in assigned project work.

The successful candidate can work remotely from a home office.
